AmadorArts' Open Mic moves to larger space in Sutter Creek, held weekly starting Aug 16

AmadorArts Open Mic has grown to the point of needing a larger venue due to the tremendous artistic talents residing in Amador County. Scott Coleman, AmadorArts Events Manager and Open Mic M.C., has revamped Open Mic and announced that starting on August 16 AmadorArts Open Mic will be at the Hotel Sutter’s banquet hall at 53 Main St. in Sutter Creek. The event will now be held weekly; every Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm. But come early to have a great dinner or enjoy happy hour at the adjoining Hotel Sutter Restaurant.

The AmadorArts Open Mic is free fun for the whole family, so come and be a part of the all-important audience or sign-up to perform.

Coleman will implement a pre-sign-up system through FaceBook for those who want to perform. Says Coleman, “We are all making strong efforts to get more involvement from musicians. We are further developing our relationships with the Amador County Artists Association to ensure that ‘Group Art Analysis’ remains an integral part of our program.”

Scott Coleman, AmadorArts Events Manager, will be hosting the new, improved Open Mic Nights
at the Hotel Sutter every Thursday.
Continued involvement of writers and poets of all ages is vital as well. A bigger space means dancers, musical theatre, improv, stand- up, and actors will find an accommodating performance space to showcase their skills. Plus, there is a lovely piano for jamming and an amp for your instruments!

AmadorArts looks forward to the continuous growth of this Open Mic program because it offers an equitable platform by which artists of all kinds can engage in a community setting. AmadorArts thanks The Hotel Sutter for its helpfulness and generosity in supplying the space for this expansion of community self-expression. Open Mic Thursday nights are fun to watch and to participate in.
