Young local musicians ask for support of Eastern Europe tour - Fundraising concert on Sun Apr 8

Dear Family & Friends,

We are excited to share the tremendous opportunity the Sacramento Youth Symphony (SYS) has, under the leadership of artistic director and conductor Michael Neumann, to tour Eastern Europe June 15 - 25, 2018.  Please look at the web site: or our Facebook page Ariana and Carlton’s European Tour Fund 2018 for more information.

We have been members of SYS for over the past 5+ years.  Currently, I, Ariana, am principal violist and I, Carlton, am principal trumpet of our respected sections of the Premier Orchestra, the highest level ensemble of the SYS organization.  We would love to join SYS on tour and we need your help to raise $9,000 for both of us to go.  As straight A students and active participants in many community events, you can imagine how rewarding this will be for both of us.

We welcome your support to help us reach our goal.  Please choose one or more of the following ways to help:

Contribute online through ‘Go Fund Me’:

Mail a check to:
Ariana and Carlton Leggett
PO Box 305
Jackson CA 95642

Request a 30-minute private concert by the Leggett Family for a contribution of $500 or more.  (Based on arrangement by both parties and time limits may apply).

Attend and make a donation at our “Melodious Songs of Europe” Fundraising Concert, Sunday, April 8th, 2018, 3 p.m. at Sutter Hill SDA Church, 12900 Ridge Road, Sutter Creek, CA 95685

With sincere appreciation for your support towards our trip and the betterment of the arts!

Santa Cruz’s Marty O’Reilly and the Old Soul Orchestra Live in Sutter Creek - Fri Feb 9

SUTTER CREEK, CA - Feist Wines presents Marty O’Reilly and The Old Soul Orchestra Friday, February 9 at 7 pm.  This four-man orchestra seamlessly weaves blues based music, harkening back to John Lee Hooker and Howlin’ Wolf, with a drunken minor swing comparable to some of Tom Waits’ darker works.

In addition to O’Reilly on the electrified resonator guitar and vocals, the band features Chris Lynch on the fiddle, Jeff Kissell on upright bass, and Matt Goff joining in on the drums.

The band formed in Santa Cruz California in 2012 and has been touring relentlessly ever since, from San Francisco to New Orleans to London to Seattle.

Live performance is at the core of the O’Reilly project. The four man band goes from raw gospel blues to cinematic epics, from heavy driving grooves to delicately arranged folk songs. They leave the stage out of breath, the ground littered with broken strings and bow hairs.

SF Weekly calls their music, "Delightful... well-crafted and NPR calls them "A band true to its name: soulful" –NPR

Tickets are $10 and are available at the tasting room or at
