Mother Lode Friends of Music: Music for Guitar and Strings. - Sun Nov 11

On Sunday, November 11, starting at 2 pm, the Mother Lode Friends of Music presents its first concert of chamber music in the 2012-2013 season at the Church of the Nazarene, 14050 Ridge Road, Sutter Creek.

The featured performer is Jaume Torrent, classical guitar virtuoso from Barcelona, Spain, joined by a quartet of prominent string players from the San Francisco Bay Area:  violinists Joseph Gold and Debbie Dare, Raphael Gold, and cellist Tom Fattaruso. They will perform the Concerto in D of Vivaldi, the “Fandango” Quintet of Boccherini, and the world premiere of Mr. Torrent’s own composition, a guitar quintet dedicated to the memory of cellist Pablo Casals.

Also, the Ricordanza di Paganini of Labarre for string trio and L’OraciĆ³n del Torero of Turina for string quartet.  Free admission.
